Tempted by death

poem by: Katarina Duheme

She sits alone in her room all day
When she does come out she's not sure what to say
She feels very alone and lost
She believes her soul is as cold as the morning frost
When she does dare look in the mirror
She understands why when people look at her they sneer
She gets ready and puts on her fake smile
But anyone could see in her eyes the depression beginning to pile
It grows larger and larger every minute
It seems like there's nothing that can stop it
People have tried helping her in the past
But the depression set in way too fast
One by one her family gave in
She's thought about suicide but heard it was a sin
So she goes to the blade
The blood from her wrist leaves stains where it's laid
The pain is bitter sweet
It send shocks to her feet
She cleans up and turns off her light
Sending a quick prayer before she lays down for the night
The kids at school see her cuts and call her Nasty names
She can't take it anymore they've driven her insane
She runs home and writes a letter
Then she takes her dads gun hoping it'll be better
Pulling the trigger she end her life
Ending her and the worlds continuous strife
Her parents come home later to the letter
It said " dear mom & dad I did this so I would feel better"
They found her crumpled up on the floor
They called 911, soon paramedics rushed through the door
" we're sorry" they said
"But there's no heart beat, she's dead"

Ugh, so sad. too many young ones choosing a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It's heart breaking to read this
Christopher Russon commented:
Sad never the less this is some thing that happens far to often. Non of us saw those subtle signs with a famely member of ours. A moment of desperation that can be cured.Good poem.
