You

I have brought this sin you seek.
And I think you know it makes me weak,
To see you falling from above
Carrying what you seem to love

There is a role I seek
To slay the demons, protect the meek.
Against my will, it comes through skin,
Insecurity, keeps me hidden.

In credulous desire I scream my name,
With hopes for purpose to obtain
The reflection I too oft have seen,
But from adulation, I dare dream.

Round up the demons.
So we can hear their reasons,
For creeping in the shadows
Where nothing seems to ever grow

The parasites are coming back
They’re here to put me on my back
To stifle all that makes me move
They never seem to leave the room

I think you know where I am from
Heavy is the burden needs undone.
Forged deep within your heart
On the verge of torn apart

In the dirt, I find my dream,
it sits alone, unwashed, unclean.
Adorn it, like the caps of old.
Now shines and sparkles, vain as gold!

I draw my circle as I hope for change
This repetition feels so strange
Its effects wear me down
But still I wear my crown

One last look before we sleep
To gaze on soul hidden deep.
Grasped hard within its grip
the helm of The sinking ship

“ On the verge of torn apart” that line just resonated, it made my word nerd heart smile! Nice penning a heartfelt rendering that I’m sure speaks to artistry in the written word.
