Chapter one:
Voices in the wind.

It all began the day my mother told my siblings and I our family secret.

She began by telling us the tale of our kind.

How full-blooded angels came down to earth and forgot their duty, having children with mortals.

These children called themselves half-bloods.

The children had children with their kind and the line continued to grow.

My siblings and I are the latest additions to the longest continuest line of Half-bloods. The Brave family.

"Lois?"

I snap out of my daydream to find myself back in the Daily Planet news room.

Clark Kent, my partner in crime, and my secret crush is sitting at my desk.

With a handsome face and a wit to match Clark is a one of a kind man.

He has a heart of gold and a will made of steel. Clark cares about his friends and his family more then he cares about himself.

No wonder I adore him.

"Sorry, Clark. I was lost in thought." I reply.

"What about?" He says staring at me with his beautiful brown eyes.

"Nothing. Nothing at all."

Kabshiel a voice calls to me as I prepare for bed that night.

I freeze when I hear the voice saying my true name.

I look behind me, but the only thing there is an open window.

Kabshiel it calls again, a whisper in the wind.

I step to the window and peer out into the night.

Kabshiel, do not deny me. It says again, this time a chilling sensation.

I shut my window. Goodnight.

The next morning the same voice calls to me as I drive to work.

Kabshiel.

I pull into a parking space and turn off the engine.

"What do you want?" I whisper quietly.

You.

Chapter Two:
Secrets

I step out of the elevator to see everyone gathered by the TVs.

This can't be good.

I tap Clark on the shoulder and he turns his head to look at me.

"Lois, is it true?" Clark asks gently.

Before I can ask what he is talking about Perry, the chief editor, slaps me on the back where my wing scars are. Ouch. I wince.

"Lois! Is it true?" Perry asks.

"Is what true?" I ask concerned.

Do they know? Do they know my family secret?

That my siblings and I are half-bloods?

That I,Lois Lane, am the current half-blood angel of light?

My sister is the current half-blood angel of darkness while my brother is the half-blood of water.

Our middle names are Brave.

"That you know the biggest scoop ever? That there is an angel in town?" Clark asks probing for information.

I relax inside my head. My family secret is safe. For now.

I nod.

"Then what are you waiting for?! I want the research on my desk by tonight! Let's go people!" Perry exclaims.

I sigh.

I sit at my desk and start typing at my computer.

Here is what I have so far:

 An angel is in town!

By Lois Lane

Do you believe in angels? I do! Sources say that a white-haired deathly pale woman with wings was seen attacking a mugger late last night. I, Lois Lane know this angel personally from childhood.

The angel's name is Kabshiel Halliel Af. She is the Angel of light.

This reporter can't wait to get a new scoop on this angel!

Jimmy calls out to me.

"Hotel fire!" He cries.

"Where?" I ask quickly.

"The Star hotel. Hurry!" He replies.

I run into the elevator quickly hitting the button for the first floor.

"Lois I'll meet you there." Clark says stopping the elevator doors from closing.

"Agreed." I reply.

I change into Kabshiel in the back of the Daily Planet.

I flap my wings and lift off the ground my feet hovering a foot from the ground.

No time to stop. Got to get there.

I flap my wings quickly and take off into the sky.

I arrive at the Star hotel. At least what was left of it.

A woman screaming for help at the top of the building sees me and starts screaming louder.

I realize that the building is about to collaspe.

No time to lose. Got to do this.

I flinch when I hear a BOOM and the woman starts to fall to the ground.

I fly under the spot where she is falling and she lands on my back with an umph.

I drop suddenly. But quickly regain air.

She wraps her arms around my neck and buries her face in my long white hair.

She coughs and coughs and coughs.

I pat her arm and she stops coughing.

I flap my wings and lower us slowly to the ground.

Superman is there watching open mouthed along with everyone else.

I land on the ground softly and unwrap the woman's arms from her death grip around my neck.

She looks up and blinks slowly like she is seeing everything for the first time.

The paramedics come and lead her away but she quickly breaks their hold running back over to me and hugging me tightly.

I almost cry.

I've never EVER been hugged when in angel form before.

Even my siblings didn't hug me when I was like this.

It felt so nice to be accepted by someone who isn't family.

I pat her back and she releases me.

"Thank you a millon times...." she trails off not knowing my name.

"Kabshiel. And I was just doing my job." I say smiling.

"Thanks again bye!" She says going off with the paramedics to the ambulence.

Superman carefully walks up to me like I was dangerous.

My smile fades at this.

"Great job! And your name would be?" He asks.

"Kabshiel Halliel Af. Angel of Light."

The next morning I walk into the Daily Planet newsroom to see everyone gathered around the TVs again.

I sigh. Doesn't anyone work anymore?

I push my way through the crowd to the front TV that's playing a news report.

Yesterday afternoon a fire broke out in the Star hotel. Thought to be one of the safest hotel, bystanders were stunned. Intead of Superman saving the life of a woman falling to the ground from the highest floor, a deathly pale woman was seen saving the woman from certain death. Here is the footage from the moment.

Then a video of my saving the woman's life was replayed right before my eyes.

I was stunned at how heroic I looked.

A deathly-pale woman looking to be in about her late 20s with white hair and white wings spreading from her back catches the woman on her back. The angel drops suddenly but quickly her wings flap and flap catching the air again.

She lands ,talks to a reporter, Superman, then leaves.

Now wonder everyone was stunned.

I was now known.

This is an interesting take on this platitude. You should write a book or short stories.
