Someone I don't think I am

Eyes can't shine unless there's something bright shimmering behind,
The tears I cry illuminate my pathway towards a land of hope I wish to find.

The silence of nights contrasting the chaos of my mind,
Lost in memories, I left my soul far behind.

Broken heart and broken trusts,
I was left hopeless, cold and frozen like frost.

Gazing at a handful of icy stars scattered in the empty night sky,
I trusted the moon with the tears I am trying so hard to hide.

Late nights and diaries know the ache of my heart,
Everyday trying to convince myself but struggling to leave behind my past.

Searching for someone who might understand,
I lived my whole life being someone I don't think I am.
