OLD FRANK...

"I'd been out of work, for about two months...so imagine my delight,
when I got myself an immediate start..on a local building site.
I was just seventeen....hadn't done construction work before,
labouring for the tradesmen..."I can do that..I'm sure."
My good mate Dave...also started on that lovely spring sunny day,
the two of us worked together...Yeah, we liked it done that way.
While driving around on the dumper...fetching materials for the men,
We'd hear the same old song...being sung again, again, and again!
Old Frank was a big Irish navvy....and he warbled it throughout the day,
It was a tune by American Eddy Arnold,called..."Make the World go away"
...it would drive the two of us crazy!...with him singing it all day long!..
didn't he know any Beatles?...why sing that rubbish song!
..I can't believe that 55yrs have gone...how quickly time goes by,
my mate, and me have since moved on...but I often think of that big old guy.
I've heard that song on the radio....and still I cover my ears,
I immediately think of Big Old Frank...and what happened to all those years?"
