Numb

poem by: D'Vina Dietrich
Written on Jan 26, 2021

The hot sting it brought to my face
As if it was shredding it
Cutting down my face
Landing on my mistreated thighs
They came hard and fast
The heavy stream, I couldn't stop.
My body's trembling, aching.
My chest grew tighter and tighter
Every breath a struggle to catch
My vision dimming, slowing leaving
Everything goes black with silence
I felt so numb, so drained, hopeless
Its dark in here, lonely, hollow
But there's nothing to feel anymore.
