THE AGEING GALOOT..

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Nov 07, 2020

"Once the class clown...always fooling around,
the centre of attention in the playground.
You had to be the one making all your mates laugh,
buffoon, and court jester...will be your epitaph.
Disrupting the lessons, throughout your time in school,
distracting the class while playing the fool.
Now you're an old man...it's too late for you to learn,
yes, you have now gone past, the point of no return.
It's time to accept that you're no longer a "hoot,"
and to everyone that knows you...you're just an old ageing Galoot!"
