PRINCES PARK....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on May 10, 2020

"I'm taking my kids, to Princes Park today,
because that's the place where my two girls love to play.
On the swings, down the slide, and the spinning roundabout,
just to hear them laugh, scream and shout!
Lovely times spent together, playing outside in the sun,
I'm reliving those times, oh my what fun!
....But now I'm a Great Grandad, memories all a haze,
back then we lived in toxteth, I'm recalling the happy days,
my Sharon, and my Michelle, two little girls innocent, and free,
both now mothers themselves, and still so precious to me.
Father Time moves ever so fast, it can't be slowed down,
Just all enjoy the moment, keep laughing don't frown.
I'm always recalling nice memories, because, a long time we are dead,
I keep replaying the good times, over and over, in my old head.
.....Yeah, the swings the slide, and the spinning roundabout,
those fun days in Princes Park, are what life's all about."
