Pining and Obsession

Morgan la Fay
I know not who you are,
only that you shine brighter
than a billion suns;
and
your attraction is greater
than any singularity

your smile pierces to the depths
of my soul—my being,
your eyes, the same color as mine,
express far more emotion
than I feel like I experience

Morgan la Fay
I know not your true name,
besides Morgan,
but
you are a sorceress
with great power
over me,

alas my Affection has turned
from another to you,
and I wonder if what I feel
is true, if what I feel
is only because I have left
another

but Morgan la Fay
I know nothing else about you,
but your beauty is comparable to
Helen of Troy
and Kings would rise in war
to win your hand, but I
have nothing but my pen

and my desire is to know,
to learn about you, what interests
do you have? are you truly
as bubbly as imagine you
to be? would you love me
with ardor and grace?

Morgan la Fay
I know ’tis not meant to be,
I could write a million poems
or shout from the mountains,
but
I am seven years older,
seven years further into life

half the amount of time
Isaac waited for Rachel, but
I have experienced a lifetime
before you have even tasted
adulthood, and I am only
a starving poet looking for
something in which to believe.
