A sense of loss
Something so precious
an unlikely find,
not only rare
but one of a kind.
A wondrous being
with beauty so blessed,
the most gorgeous body
whether naked or dressed.
I’ve been so lucky
to be part of your life.
I accept without protest
that you can’t be my wife.
I am ever grateful
for what you have shared.
For such a wonderful time
I was never prepared.
The time has now come
to step back and let go,
no matter how hard,
and painful the blow.
Never had I thought
it would be this hard.
But to respect your wishes
our paths must soon part.
I am so thankful
to have been a part,
of the life of a woman
so awesome and smart.
