CHEETAH...

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Jan 27, 2019

"On the cruel wild plains of Africa, the Cheetah lives from day to day,
under the heat of a burning sun, cheetahs prowl for unsuspecting prey.
Survival is an instinctive ability, evolution gave them pace,
and unbelievable agility.
Hunting antelope with cunning stealth, then blistering speed,
using amazing acceleration to make the final kill...young cubs at last will feed.
The magnificent cheetahs, gorgeous big cats, so sublime,
long may they grace this foreboding world....to forever stand the test of time."

I like the variety in diction in this poem, I just think it could be improved by changing the pace of the lines so that it flows easier. The rhyme is beautiful and well-written. I love the last line!
