Icicles

poem by: Marie Maughan
Written on Jan 05, 2019

the porch lets down its icicles
slowly
that stretch the light in canes
at night
point transparently
in shapes
of gaffed marlins
hang there
for show

They lengthen
the cold
into a funneled
spectacle
stiffen up
the blue stars
just enough
for me to
see them
