Empty Nest

Where did it start
Where did it begin
What went on in between
I blinked once and then they were gone,
To a new life, a new beginning, with me on the peripheral edge
A transition, a change, an ending, a new beginning.
Oh! The grief I feel, the emptiness the loss
Who am I now, what is my place
A glimmer of hope enters my soul,
The wealth of pride I feel, to fill the hole
I see a light and then it fades
This emotional voyage is light and shade
I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend
Where is me, the person that was before the start and after the end
I will find me, the person that was!
