Complacency

poem by: Daniel Moskowitz
Written on Dec 10, 2018

The Grammy Award nominees
Attempt to reassure the youth that,
Despite all the destruction occurring in the world,
"Everything is gonna' be all right".
I have no such reassurance
For ANYONE.
Our Civilization is on
An unsustainable course,
And anyone who doesn't believe It
Is just fooling him or herself.
You might feel marginalized
As a Youth,
Person of Color
Or Gay or Lesbian,
But,
If you cling on to this
"Positivism",
Your thinking is not completely different
From the corporate elites
Who brainwash the public
Into complacency.
