I am odd

poem by: David Mitchell

They say that I am odd
Funny
Weird and strange
But I do not feel peculiar or mental
Or insane
They say I have a weird walk and talk
And they say I am a clown
But if I was the clown they speak of
Why do I always frown?
They say I am a teaser, weirdo and even freak sometimes
So I sit here pondering their perceptions
Writing it in lines
So after thinking long and hard I came to this conclusion
That I can not meet your expectations and my self doth not meet your illusion
For me to let your understanding of me become my holy self
I do not feel that this would be good for my kidneys or my health
My understanding of this world has been carved in experiences wealth
So I slip your measerly perceptions with an assassins stealth.
