IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Oct 26, 2018

"I'm trying to think of some words, nothing too absurd to put into some kind of rhyme,
I'm sitting at home, struggling to think of a poem, about how can I turn back time.
I look at the clock, and hear the tick, tock, so I put two hands on my head,
then I pick up my watch, have a quick scratch of my crotch, and deftly hop back into bed.
But it's time to get up,..so my coffee I sup, then sprint for the six O'clock bus,
while legging down the street, I glance down at my bare feet!...I can't believe all of the bloody fuss!
Now I'll be late again for work, I feel like a berk, I'm certain this time I'll be fired,
then suddenly I stop...no I won't get the chop, because I remember I've been 5yrs retired!"
