Distant Daisy

poem by: Trevor Doran

From a distance, I saw a beautiful daisy
Admiring it from a distance I fell in love with it
When I came to pick the daisy, I knew there were flaws
ignoring them because I fell in love from a distance

not flaws in beauty, there were none
I planted you in my garden
solitary for months with no weeds
instead flowers of many types started blooming around you

I tried to pick them out
but my daisy wouldn't let them leave
after all the the struggles, I found her blowing away in the wind
with a tulip, leaving me behind

Daisies always remind me of my childhood....I love that little wild flower.......though this poem may be sad for you.......because of the daisy, it makes me happy.....
