Compare The Pain

poem by: Robert Hedrick
Written on Apr 17, 2014

When pain enters in my body and I
feel it's more that I can bear,
I plan to visit the cross and look
on my Savior as He hung there.
Enduring terrible pain from nails
driven into His hands and feet,
Taking man's place and making His
salvation plan complete.

Jesus, being equal to God, came to
the earth in the form of man,
A one time, perfect sacrifice, to
bring us to God as only He can.
He had sisters and brothers along
with His mother and earthly dad,
Then, as in all families, I'm sure
that He saw good times and bad.

As the new testament begins, the
life of Jesus begins to unfold,
Presenting His Father's message in
words that had never been told.
Performimg miracles that unti then
or since has never been seen,
Raising the dead and sick, making
some with evils spirits be clean.

Jesus performed many miracles, yet
He could've performed one more,
Perventing Him from enduring the
suffering on the cross He bore.
Yet because of His love for man, He
allowed the nails to inflict pain,
Now as I ache, I look to the cross,
making an effort not to complain.
