Mercurial narcosis condemns my fantasy
leaving me with little but the truth
what fool am I just born to die without a prayer to speak?
nothing but an echo of my youth
razor love has left me blind and chained within my heart
groveling for scraps of human sin
a paraplegic acrobat despising baptist nets
that span the pit he wants to fall within
duplicitous bureaucracy exterminates the boy
that used to be while challenging the man
to sacrifice his paradise with socialistic grace
for no good reason he can understand
serpentine society beguiles the common fool
with plastic dolls and music of the night
but tears away his dignity like pulling wings off flies
leaving him to contemplate his plight
what dreams are real? what hope is true? what innocence survives?
questions shred the hymen of the brain
I may be you, but are you me, and will we both parade
our misery through streets that are insane?
with un-dead eyes and stony heart I dance with shiny dolls
to symphonies of darkness 'til the dawn
ever-knowing that my fate was sealed before my birth
and that I am no more than just a pawn
