40 Years

poem by: Martin Andrews

At times I look wonder
How I made it through the years
Fighting endless battles
My spirit lost in fears

A heart of good intentions
Completely swept away
Grasping oil in my hands
Where dreams rot and decay

Sleepless desert storms
Feed my beaten weary soul
I raise my raise another day
Persevering towards my goal

Overlooking barren wasteland
Faith awakes my heart
Hope and courage tell me O
f a new way I can start

Hand in hand we walk along
Day by day we see
Birth pangs of a miracle
Restoring life to me

I like this, but feel it needs some tweaking!
