Morning

poem by: India Johnson
Written on Dec 05, 2013

Tangled in a web of sheets
limbs like the fingers of epic lovers.
Sun Pierces the horizon,
shattering the night and the essence of timelessness it carries.
a look;
passionate and gentle
a touch;
rough hands, goaded by the tenderness of love and vulnerability, embrace the soft curve of her face.
a pause;
brief; eternal;
inhaled and digested before conscious fingers, hungry and unsatisfied, dance to the rhythm of desire,
defying reason,
abandoning inhibition,
tracing the hills and valleys of her anatomy;
exploring her world.
racing hearts, anxious and unfailingly synchronized.
the heat of proximity and yearning warms their souls.
fire burning,
bones reverberate,
nerves pulse,
skin crawls,
sun fractured,
fallen pieces of light scattered throughout the room.
broken walls,
vulnerable and free,
lovers become one in the morning.
