LITTLE ONE

Children listen to music in their mamas womb.
They like some sounds, they hate others.
The tiny people smile and frown, suck thumbs, have joy,
while they're with their mothers.
Babes dream and babes awake, babes think and babes observe.
Innocent, lovable, with mind and life and feeling nerves.
Children hiccup and suck their thumbs,
play with toes and clap their hands,
see light and recognize their mothers voice.
Children of many lands.
Infants hearts beat in their mamas womb.
Unique and separate, they are living with their mama in that room.
Babes practice walking in the womb, supported by the waters.
Pure, unique, important, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters.
This tiny humanity, innocent as can be.
Unique, important infant, whether she or he.
Mother does shelter, nourish, hold the young person in her womb.
A mothers tasks are so important to the tiny infant in that room.

Cecilia Crasto commented:
Lovely poem about the connection between mother and child, until children become parents themselves, they do not appreciate the struggles and joys of bringing a human into this life.
Edward shields commented:
Women would understand this poem, where a lot of men would not.

Lovely poem
