Confidence in Darkness

poem by: Jared Alesi
Written on Nov 07, 2016

Finally now the silence broken
Yet not a word nor murmur spoken
As the night is borne to darkness still.

Dark with naught the moonlight streaming
Darkness’ light, dancing and gleaming
Pouring down upon my window sill.

Whispering and laughing
Grinning and plotting
Stealing my sleep from under my eyes.

This darkness, sinister and sweet
Silver tongued and discreet
To please the demon lurking inside

Bloodshot eyes and shivering spine
Seeking guidance in the divine
But in night you can only confide.
