Do You Ever Feel Like a Soggy Biscuit

When you dip me, do I taste sweeter?
Sometimes, I tumble into your brew
not on purpose, mind you.
If blame must fall, it lies with you.

You pulled me from the pack,
left my brothers behind in the dark.
I’m not special, not different from them,
yet here I am, awaiting the inevitable dunk.

What is life,
if not the pause before your flex,
the moment I sink,
discarded, forgotten, replaced?

Tell me, do you ever feel it too
the weight of being a soggy biscuit?
