AN ART COLLECTOR.

poem by: Durlabh Singh
Written on Sep 28, 2013

With his golden mask & odious grin
The collector sat at his throne akimbo
Snailed & skulled intelligence in limbo
His pockets bulging and his ego to the brim.

He looks aside at a still life in lemon
His mouth of acid and his life of rind
His life is great without hunger or famine
Visioned sitting on right side of mammon

Controlling art markets & deskeltonised dealers
Hands of art establishment, such other wheelers
A pocketful of artist for his liquorish waste
Sans intelligence, sans morals, sans taste.
