Darkness

And in the end came the darkness. The last of the light has been exterminated and shall never return. They say the darkness can't last forever, but they are wrong. It doesn't go away. It fades but not completely. Even on the best of days, the black birds haunt through the endless pain and sorrow. And the shadows still don't hide from the light, but devour it. Feeding until its empty. The evilest of deeds has been reduced to a smile for only a smile could be the end. A smile only occurs with life and love. Both of which have been outlawed long ago. Long before the shadows creeper, and the black birds flew. Before the blackness set in, and before the light started to fade. In the 'before' when there were people running, they were allowed to go outside. Though the last of good has gone away and darkness is all we know today. They say "The darkness rises, then fades away." But they are wrong. Times won't change.
