The Mask

poem by: Susie Timbo
Written on Sep 10, 2013

I'm dying inside but i cant tell you how i feel,
i show you emotions but none of them are real.
I put a smile on my face and tell you i'm good,
i cant tell you the truth but i'm thinking i should.
I'm not happy at all so i put on this mask,
but pretending to be happy is no easy task.
I say i'm just tired but really i'm sad,
i just don't want you to see past my mask
Cause when you ask why i'm sad i don't want to lie,
but how can i tell you that your the reason i cry?
