Silence

poem by: Chloe Lyons
Written on May 10, 2016

Silence
Not a word spoken
Not even bodies moving
Silence
Most people enjoy it
I don't
My brain wanders too far off
Emotions get going
Silence
The man in black comes walking
Heads turn, hearts break
They close the casket separating the mother from her son, the widower from his wife, the granddaughter from her grandfather, the child from her uncle
Silence
It's not always good
It's not always bad
It is silence
