Should Have Tried Harder

poem by: Hassan Saadi

Loneliness isn't when your by yourself
It's not a product of the environment
It's not a product of circumstances
But rather it's a reflection of self
It's not always true, but often it's your own fault
It's the product of your mind and action
How do you push away those that gave you patience
Why do you try and convince yourself that this isn't for you
You know you love it but you also can't handle it
Why do you think that you can sleep the pain away
It's here to stay
It will never go away
I will soon fade away, nothing but a memory
Nothing but a couple years, and I couldn't face that so I pushed them away
