Taken by whispers

poem by: Megan Lippert
Written on Jan 02, 2016

Day or night, I cannot sleep.
Quiet and scarred, hearing voices
calling me back, I shall not weep.

Shadows lurking, I hear laughing.
Pointing and starring, the viewers
grow silent, no one is clapping.

I cannot speak, my voice is quiet.
Cold and lifeless, silence covers
the room like a harsh still night.

I stand short, but I must fall.
Strong and sturdy, I must breach
the wall and I too shall stand tall.
