Darkness

poem by: Megan Lippert

You shine bright.
During a cold night,
I still see you, light.
Another sleepless fight,
You, as my shining knight.

You shine bright.
My eyes closed tight,
I still see you, light.
This doesn't feel right.
Is this revenge or spite?

You shine bright.
Darkness you will smite.
I still see you, light.
My mind knows no fright.
Now, I can sleep alright.
