The Dream

poem by: James Dicus
Written on Aug 28, 2015

I look at the night sky
And think of your eyes
And how I get lost in them

Though miles apart
We're together in heart
My love the strongest it's been

I long to see your face
I miss your smile
I miss your taste

I want to feel your warmth again
To hold you close and hear you breathe
Those three delicate words
As your head rests upon my chest

We'll be together soon
Looking up at the moon
And enjoying each others company

I'll whisper to you soft and sweet
Your favorite song you love to hear
And feel your squeeze grow tighter

We have so much ahead of us
Years of life and love to share
All that's left is for us to meet
