When you look at me what, do you see?
Do you see a lover?
Do you see a companion?
Do you see a friend?
Or do you see a toy?
A plaything? Or simply a convenience?
When I look at you what do I see?
I can't tell.
Do I see a lover?
A companion?
A friend?
Or am I looking at a stranger?
Someone abusive? Neglectful?
Someone who just doesn't care?
The past has made me blind
I can't see through the tears
I can't hear past the crying
And I'm too afraid of the answer
To ask the question.
When you look at me, what do you see?
