Death, I am freedom

poem by: Derek Vincent
Written on Apr 01, 2015

I am the blue sky that swallows pain.
I am the dead cleansing rain.
All of my clouds are dreams.
Watch as they flow away in waterless streams.
I am the ground you walk on.
Once you dig into me I am gone.
I will be here for years to come.
Life is beautiful but lonesome.
I will never fall out from under you.
A cruel joke I could never do.
Find me where I'm most convenient.
As you are caring, I am lenient.
I may not be lively poetic.
But by your perception I am zoetic.
No matter where you are.
Just look up for a star.
It is those you love that have died.
For your freedom they have lied.
It is feign but selfless.
Yet although in freedom we are surrounded by darkness.
It is Ying and Yang, and you're my ego.
If I am freedom the light will never show.
Ignorance is bliss if you're immortal.
Close your eyes to enter an eternal portal.
Who needs to dream if they're happy.
Why must fate sult beautifully.
Death, I am freedom.
I am the cloud destined to come.
