Captive

poem by: Rhiannon Gilner
Written on Mar 28, 2015

I'm locked down
In a cage in my mind
Where I seem trapped
Eternally
Inescapable
I'm breaking
Everything is falling
But there is nothing
And I begin to hate who I am
Look into my eyes
Tell me, left is there any life?

This makes me feel sad. But we have the key to that cage. Do you hate who you are in your eyes or theirs? The cage is basing our self worth by what someone else thinks. It only matters what you know.
