A suffocating wish

The harder my fingers cross
The less time passes between
Seconds and yet
I can’t escape the grip I’ve so
Induced

Seconds become minutes
To hours
Two is the number of times
I wish each day to feel
Less

Oh how I wish
These fingers would
Cross for the last time
In harmony

One of four
I know not
What to do in
The time I have to
Hold you not

I will wait
As I have
For if I must
A century or two will pass
My patience is near my capacity
Of love

To you
