THE VOW...

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Oct 21, 2022

"I'm getting "leathered" again....but I don't know why..
why does he hurt me?....why make me cry?...
What did I do wrong, to deserve that leather belt?..
didn't he even care...about the pain that I felt?..
Didn't he feel guilty, for what he'd just done?..
No I don't think he did...because I wasn't his son..
I was only about nine...I just had to suffer the whack!..
..yeah I was a skinny little bastard....who vowed to fight back!"
