OUR RIVER....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Mar 02, 2022

"I'm watching our Great River flow back out to the sea...
I'm so proud of the River Mersey...it means so much to me...
If it wasn't for our River...Liverpool just wouldn't be here...
the world would be the loser...as it's so much loved, and revered...
Liverpool, "The mother" of all scousers...embraces the Mersey with love...
overlooked by the two liverbirds...that gaze proudly down from above...
The ferries still cross the Mersey...many times throughout the day...
and just like the words in the song...it's the place where I'll stay."
