Time to self love

She walked through life with her hands covering her eyes
Neglecting to protect her own sanity from the cruel world
Tripping over terrors and falling into holes of pain
She didn't wanna see any of it
Yet neglecting to look, she ended up feeling it all.
Blindly trusting her steps, she became lost.
False heros pretending to save her
They were terrible vultures snatching at her soul.
Tearing her down, throwing pieces everywhere.
Because she wasn't looking, She thought they were saviors
Never seeing their ugly or the mess they created.
She created images of these nasty creatures in her head
And blamed all of her damaged soul on herself
That she was the monster, the enemy.

Then one day, after many years of self torture.
She removed those caring hands from her eyes.
The beautiful veils she placed on everyone were removed.
She saw their evil dark eyes and darkened souls.
She began to run, as far as her bruised body could.
When she stopped, she cried and cried.
Grieving that never existed, missing a false reality.
Trying to pick up all those torn pieces
She has to sew her self back together
Remembering with each stitch to love herself
It's going to take time to recover from the damage
To find every bit that she has lost
But she will. She will see how beautiful she really is.
And that she never deserved to be torn apart.
