A Different Fate

She awakens from a dream.
Hearing screams.
Screams from a love gone wrong.
A woman lost inside her own head that is past gone.

As she wakes
As she awakens.

Outside the birds sing.
They don’t care about the pain.
Outside the birds fly in between.
They aren’t trying to just get ahead again.

As she wakes.
A different fate.
As she wakes.

Maybe this time will be different.
Maybe this time it will be a dream within a dream.
Maybe this time it will be different.
Maybe this time he won’t let her down and leave.

As she awakens.
She dies.
As she awakens.
She is finally free from all life’s lies.
