NEVER FORGET....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Nov 08, 2017

"Let's all remember them, let's never forget,
those brave British soldiers, who paid the ultimate price,
defending our Nation, their young lives did sacrifice.
It was, a war to end wars, they were led to believe,
but thousands were slaughtered,
leaving their families, forever to grieve.
They died without dignity, gunned down in the mud,
and just what did they die for?...did it do any good?
Remember them....let's never, ever forget."

Quite a moving piece, and tragically, we are slowly losing sight of the reasons for their sacrifice.

Like it. Not your most original but from the heart. I like that type of writing best. It's what I do.

Lovely poem Frank. Why do humans need to go to war all the time? There's always some conflict somewhere on earth.......
