An Eye for An Eye....

poem by: Frank Byrne
Written on Jun 27, 2017

"Why lock up a killer?
Tell me, what is the use?
Get rid of pure evil,
let's bring back ..the noose.
Just show a callous killer,
that an "eye for an eye,"
means, if you murder someone,
you, yourself are going to die!
Only jailing evil scum, still gives them some hope,
but now, if you take an innocent life, it's the end,
you're going to swing from a rope!"

Much as we might wish for this Frank, those days are long gone, but in prison they have their own form of retribution and that could be worse~cheers my friend!

Thanks Cecilia....thanks Chris.....some killers are pure evil, and don't deserve to draw another breath........and yes, I would rather die than spend my life locked up....
