TRAPDOOR - 1st Draft

VERSE (1)

You watched me dance in the moonlight
Do I move my body well in your sight,
Am I the right age and the right height
Hoping I'm not just another oversight
Here's hoping that you'll treat me right,
I'm too scared to walk and too tired to fight
When you made a solemn oath to me,
I was blinded by your love, was no reality..

CHOROUS

Little girl will you ever learn?
How to crash without the burn?
Wanting love is not a crime
But life is not a nursery rhyme
What the hell are you crying for?
Get down on your knees and pray some more
Cause these tears only lead to a trapdoor
You seek what you need down the trapdoor
You battle, you bleed, always wanting more
Of the deep, dark despair down the trapdoor

VERSE (2)

Why can't I see what they are looking at
All incognito in my black Vinnies hat,
I would of run well with the 'Rat Pack'
So what the hell are they looking at!
I've been let down, by a dirty alley cat
There's a whore skanking where I once sat
You broke your solemn oath to me,
That's far from satisfactory!

VERSE (3)

Once in a palace made just for me
How much I missed just being free
Why would you choose never to see
The depth of what they meant to me
I've tried crazy mentality, cried with strained sensibility
I stood alone, felt the ocean's breeze
Praying for strength, fighting to breathe
You broke your solemn oath to me,
I was battered and bruised but finally free!

Awesome chorus
Wendy Phelan commented:
Thanks George! This song needs a bit of tweaking, maybe a lot? I started with the chorus, loved that part. I hear the music in my head, play notes on my guitar, sing, (I can do that well) but need to learn much more. I am a poet at heart who loves to write songs..
