"Hey Buddy," What's gotten into yeah lately dude?"

Jarrod asked his friend with the nick name of buddy.

"What on earth do yeah mean Jerri," Buddy replied.

"I mean like it is that we used ta have a lot of fun
together. And we don't anymore. Cause every
time I asked you to go out with me.

All yeah keep on telling me, "No," I don't do that any
more."

"Remember how we used to chase after all of those
really cool looking babes?" And how we used ta
keep sorta of a 'score board' ta see what one
of us could pick up enough chicks!"

"You don't chase the skirts anymore, get high
anymore or get wasted anymore. You really
don't know what ya are all missing in life,
do you?"

"This court jester rests his case," Jarrod smirked,

"I found something much more better than all of
that happy nonsense. Like I found Jesus or may
be He just decided to find me. Jerri, don't ya
remember what happen when I started popping
pills and mixing up the uppers and the downers?"

Buddy smiled at his best friend since elementary
school.

"i saw Jesus Christ right before my very eyes!"

"And than you passed out cold for about 72 hours
and they picked you up in an aid car and broke all
of the speed limits just ta get yeah there in time!"

"Jerri, Jesus gave me a real important message ta
give ta yeah. Jesus told me that He was returning
soon in the twinkling of an eye!"

"Well why didn't Jesus tell yeah just when He was
going to be making His grand entrance in the
middle of the sky?"

"He didn't need cause I took His word of honor
cause He could've sent me straight to hell,
but He rescued and redeemed me instead!"

"You've got a point right there, Buddy, sounds
like Jesus saved yer life and you owe Him a
lot for doing so!' Jarrod replied.

"I would like to to take the ultimate heavenly
trip with me Jerri, so we can spend all of
our eternity with Jesus and each other for
ever and forever more!"

"Sounds really good ta me good buddy,
what do I have to do to be saved?

Jarrod sincerely and earnestly asked Buddy.

"In the last days all of those who call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Buddy began his explanation.

"Hey Jesus, if You are really up there and
if You really did save Buddy's life and
rescued him from hell, I want just what
Buddy already has, You Jesus!"

Buddy did not have enough time to explain more
about salvation to his best friend forever and forever
more! They both saw with their very own eyes, Jesus
Christ waiting for them both in the middle of the cloudy
sky.

"Hey Jana, isn't that the clothes belonging to
 Buddy and Jerri?" Shouted Lila.

"Looks like Jerri broke another one of his promises
to us both one more time again!

"Didn't he promise us that he could cure Buddy
of being just another religious fanatic of some
sorta Jesus Freak? Lila responded.

"We'll here's both of all of their stuff,
but their bodies are gone!"

"Wait whose King James Bible is that?"

Jana grasped Lilia's right arm, holding it also
into the sky and they both shook an angry fist
at the sky trying to show their puny human
anger to God!

"It belonged to that Jesus Freak, Buddy! And
He converted Jerri instead of the other way
around. I am through with the both of them
and their God!" Jana yelled.

Love in Christ Jesus,

Wishful thinking

poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Why waste the time of day in wishful thinking? Why spin cobwebs in the air? Why wish upon a star, when no one hears? Many years I have spent in wishful thinking. Day dreaming most of my life away. Wasting away the years, Ign... Read more
