Double Dream: Decoupled from the Biosphere

I watched as a girl stood trial. She was in her early twenties, with gorgeous blonde hair and deep blue eyes. I don't know what she'd been accused of, but she was sentenced to be "decoupled from the biosphere".
The girl was taken to a chamber and dressed in a plain white dress and nothing more.
She was shackled to the ceiling and her feet were secured to two small metal plates in the floor which were slowly heated as the room began to fill with what looked like blue smoke.

Then I woke up.

I woke up in a chamber wearing just a plain white dress. Chains round my wrists were attached to the ceiling; straps over my feet secured them to metal plates in the floor.
I felt my feet begin to burn as I watched blue smoke swirl around me.
I felt myself choke. My heart began to race, and then it stopped. Everything turned black and I felt myself collapse.
I thought I was dead.

I was just existing in a void: it wasn't black or cold, just empty and without time.
I really thought I was dead.

Until I woke up again
And realised it was all just a bad dream.

And why is it always the bad ones that stick? I think I'm awake now - I hope so anyway. Thanks Frank.

Dreams are confusing messages. Words of the Goddess waiting to be interpreted. You are beautiful, Prafa O'Shea, but I think and hope you will not die before your time.
