Pale Girl...Witte Prafa Translation

It was many years ago, when I was preparing to face the Trials, that she stumbled upon our village. She was very pale, her skin was white but her face and lips were pink. Her eyes were the colour of the sky. Her hair was th colour of the Sun. The ends of her fingers looked blood-stained. I, Sxisha, offered her my hand to welcome her to our village.
I told her my name was Sxisha, and she said her name was Lucy, I did not know her language nor she ours back then but I believe we worked it out.
When we got to my house, Father stopped me from taking Lucy in. He told me to look for her feet. Her feet were hidden in skins and furs. I pointed to her feet then to mine and Father's. Lucy seemed to understand as she took off her "boots and socks". Mother and my older Sister, Riaxi, came to meet the Pale Girl. They showed Lucy their feet, and she seemed shocked at their missing big toes. I fetched our Sacred Book for her to read. It had pictures in it so she should understand. I pointed to my own big toes and then to a knife. She put her arms round me like Mother used to and said "I will join you. Lucy, Tsesha." She was the first Pale Girl for centuries to face the Trials. At Dinner that Evening, Lucy ate with the rest of the village. The girls who were facing the Trials lined up for their Preparation. I nudged Lucy to join us and instructed her to follow me. I was placed onto the Preparation Slate. A straight stick was placed across the ends of my big toes to ensure that my other toes were longer. Then the blade came to my two big toes. I was lifted from the Slate to have my feet cleaned before the Trials. Pale Lucy was next onto the Slate. She was eligible for the Trials so she too had both big toes cut off but she cried a little when each was cut off though her crying did not last very long. Lucy was cleaned with me. We were both stripped naked and each given the Purple Shroud to protect our Honour from Daemons. Ddu Anza's sister, Shu Nahen was the last to be prepared. Then we went off into the Forest to fend for ourselves...

I am forbidden from disclosing any events of the Trials.

Your village seems like a lovely place to live.....it's not the daemons you need protection from.....
