Louisiana Saturday night

poem by: Andrew Dietrich

I brought you to my hollowed ground
Where the red cheeked Andrew played around
I brought you to my hollowed ground
Where my great great grandmothers soul watched and smiled down
I brought you to my hollowed ground
Where wild magnolias watched us without making a sound
I brought you to my hollowed ground
Where for a few years my demons weren't around
I brought you to my hollowed ground
Where men beating us weren't around
I brought you to my hollowed ground
To meet the only man who tried to stick around
I brought you to my hollowed ground
For you not to even stick around.....
