AMIE JM FOREVER MINE

poem by: Kenvil Atkins
Written on Jan 24, 2021

In the valley of derision, I cry out to my God for a reason.
Yes, still licking wounds my Amie I lost to the seasons.
Yet I walk away a heart full of woe refusing ever to let go.
My love a burning fire a hundred streams could not quench.
In my dreams I walk alone fair Amie aching through my bones

I am hunted by your thoughts and long for your sweet embrace.
Let me feel the warmth of your breath as vapor upon my chest.
Once again, your tender love that surely came from above.
The road to your abode I follow yet your presence disappears.
But I know that I have been there many times you never knew.

Oh, fair Amie my lovely, graceful dove I prowl on top the hills.
I see your burning lights below and watch for your silhouette.
I thought someday to be a groom your precious hands I adore.
Oh, foolish me why did I hide the love I had for my fair bride
Come drink with me and ease my pain before I almost go insane.
