2020

poem by: Rhys Thomas

Surrounded by friend, yet I feel so alone
I can't cope with this anymore, I just want to go home
But I can't, I can't right now
Please let this be over soon

Perhaps the world did end in 2012
Welcome to 2020: the Year of Hell
And to think that all seemed to be going well
I was a fool, of course, to not notice the calm before the storm

Open your eyes: the window to the soul
Gaze deep into the abyss
And let the darkness consume you
Fear not, my friends, let it all in

There is nothing to fear
Regardless our sins,
We all end up here
Just embrace it,
And there will be bliss

Yeah you are so right Rhys...this year has been a shit year...possibly the most miserable year for decades for me...and it's so true that you can be in a room full of people, and not feel part of it all....believe me mate, you are not alone...but chin up lad, and dig deep within yourself...things really will improve...and this shit year will just be a memory.......Rhys can I suggest that you listen to a musician called Krishna Das, I find his music takes me to another level of consciousness...so therapeutic for me...(it's so different from my love for Black Sabbath).....but everyone needs a mantra to escape your own mind....✌🏻...keep writing your poetry, I love reading your work...👍🏻Frank..
