White Man's Hypocrisy... Witte Proviton Yipokre

When the White Men first met us
He said "Green Men, your actions are evil"
He told us "Do as we do and it will be good"
So we did as the White Men did

Then the White Men returned
Seeming to have changed His Mind
He said "Green Men, your actions are Barbaric"
He told us "Do as we do and it will be Honourable"

"Was it not you, White Men, who told us to act as you did?"
"Was it not you, White Men, who told is it was good?"
"But now you call us evil and Barbaric for doing as you instructed?"
The White Men did not acknowledge these truths.
But we did as the White Men did

Then the White Men returned again
Another new idea
He said "Green Men, your actions are Dishonourable"
He told us "Do as we do and you will be Blessed"

So we asked again:
"Was it not you, White Men, who told us to act as you did?"
"Was it not you, White Men, who told is it was good?"
"But now you call us evil and Barbaric for doing as you instructed?"
Again, the White Men ignored reason.
But we did as the White Men did.

The White Men came again
For one final time
He said "Green Men, your actions are Detestable"
He told us "Do as we do and you will be Admirable"

"Was it not you, White Men, who told us to act as you did?"
"Was it not you, White Men, who told us we would be Blessed?"
"But now you call us Detestable for doing as you instructed?"

These final White Men restored our Original way of life
But He takes the credit for telling us to diverge from our Detestable ways
And He takes the credit for bringing us to an Admirable way of life
But He accepts no responsibility for forcing us away from these Admirable ways,
Nor for forcing us into these Detestable ways.
What we Green Men were doing first is what the White Men tell us is correct this day.
The White Men did as we had done when they called our actions evil.

We do not want the Laws or Judgement of The White Men.

Not all white men, Prøvo Hornby. But there was a violence when we did not submit to the White Men of this poem. The anger is from these White Men bringing us in a total circle despite telling us our ways were evil: hypocrisy and contradiction made us angry with them. We are the Green Men - As Forest dwellers, our skin blends with the leaves. Does this satisfy your curiosity Prøvo Hornby?

Would you like us to be the same colour or would you be green with envy?

Prøvo Reeves, I like that we are not the same. Differences are to be embraced, and in all our cultures our past carries shame where we failed to do this. I believe I exist, but I extend you the same question. I forgive your confusion, but I am not titled with Prøvo, merely Prafa.
